The Dallas Mayor's Intern Fellows Program celebrated its 10th year in 2017. To date, approximately 2,175 Dallas public high school students have participated in the innovative program, generating payrolls topping $4.8 million. Currently led by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, the program offers eight-week paid internships where students earn a minimum of $9 per hour, gaining invaluable, real-world experience with Dallas' top businesses and nonprofits. Fellow interns networked and heard from a panel of young professionals discussing their experiences living and working in the Dallas Region after college. #SayYesToDallas
Six Gensler interns, proposed a way to enhance Deep Ellum to bring more people there to live, work, and play by using research of Deep Ellum's history as well as strategies used by successful cities and communities. This was an urban planning project that involved the use of AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Google SketchUp, and After Effects.
Outgoing personalities and unique talents showed up for the Dont Mess with Texas Intern Search Summer 09 on March 5th at Victory Park in Dallas. We had every kind of applicant from the Metroplex, from a sweet contestant with cupcakes for the entire staff to a very proud Texan with an oversized cowboy hat and cork gun.
